We have been fighting a nasty trend. It’s not that the trend doesn’t have the right intentions. The thing that makes the trend so nasty is that the claims do not match the results, so we’ve been fighting it until we were able to embrace it the right way.

The trend is to attach social media and SEO into a reputation management solution. Many companies are doing it with varying degrees of success. We don’t believe in any degree of success other than near perfection, which is why we’ve been holding off. We didn’t launch with the product designed, but we had it in mind all along. Now, it’s finally becoming a reality.

As many of you may recall, we purchased an equity stake in eReputationBuilder back in February. The software and strategies that the company was using proved to be a strong base for the development of a holistic service. After adjustments, integrations, and testing, we’re finally ready to launch.

While it will still be attached to the Dealer Authority brand, we will be launching it as a separate product line called Dealer Influence. This is not intended to confuse anyone. It is our belief that this segment of the automotive digital marketing industry will be able to sustain its own brand, one that is specific to reputation and that combines the software and prowess of eRepBuilder with the strategies and delivery of social and search components from Dealer Authority.

The soft launch is slated for the beginning of April with a sponsored breakfast and product description at the Internet Sales 20 Group in Atlantic City on April 8-10. We will be taking on beta clients until we have 30 in place. The alpha tests were extremely successful, but it’s always good to get a larger segment to more accurate data before taking it all public.
